When I spotted this Hermes tanned leather and metal valet box, my mind randomly went to the TV movie Scruples. Starring Lindsay Wagner, it was about the rise of the fictional Scruples boutique on Rodeo Drive in the late 1970s, when that was the place to be. The interior was all smoke glass, gleaming chrome and leather. Now you see the connection?
Anywho, I'm an avid, if amateur, Hermes collector and this would look smashing on my dresser top. I'm sure I'll get outbid.
By the way, the Housing Works shopping site is worth a look. Though the selection, like my culture references, are completely random and they don't always seem to know what they have, there are great finds to be had and it all goes to a worthy cause.
