Remember When | Race Car Sets

Share
Believe it or not, I was once an average American boy, obsessed with detective books (I could devour a Hardy Boys book in one sitting), architecture (I built Lego communities well into high school) and race car sets. I had one called Nightmare Rally (get it?), which was battery operated and only gave the slightest shock when you touched the track. Getting your car through the gravity-defying loop took great skill, which I never quite mastered.

I spotted this old Aurora set at the Salvation Army today and nearly bought it, but I new it would just set off a new, expensive hobby that my New York apartment doesn't have the room for. But how cool are those graphics?
