Dang, is it Fall already?! It was rainy and dreary today (nothing new this Summer), but also kinda cold, right? I actually wore pants when I went out this morning and, get this— a light jacket! But the prospect of Fall excites me, because then its hello cashmere and denim and corduroy and boots and goodbye sweaty t-shirts and frayed cut-offs.
An essential part of my Fall/Winter wardrobe will be the new LL Bean down jac-shirt. Actually, its not all that new, just an update on the classic shirt jacket that my dad and most men of the 70's used to wear. Its improved with a lightweight insulated lining, brushed tricot at the neck (no wool rash) and a handy interior cell phone pocket (dad didn't need one of those). And there's something about the slightly tailored fit that makes me look taller and slimmer than an average down jacket— and that's a very good thing.
