If you've managed to get through the September Harper's Bazaar (if you haven't, try partly covering your eyes to shield yourself from the horrors) you may have spotted the fashion editorial inspired by heiress and madcap art collector Peggy Guggenheim. As a style roman a clef, its just okay-- I've seen better and worse. Pictured here is the one shot I would truly call genius, because it's of the model (who looks nothing like the real Peggy) wearing a pair of Peggy's famous freak show sunglasses-- batwings that are literally batwings. The fact that they were donated by Karl Lagerfeld launches them into the stratosphere of fabulosity.
Forgive my florid language, I'm still on pain meds from the dentist.
