In an agnostic (to put it mildly) family like mine, pseudo-religious holidays were just excuses to partake in our three favorite past times: shopping, drinking and gossiping. The kids got new outfits we hated, Grandma poured a round of rum and Cokes (easy on the Coke) and everyone sat around and ripped whoever wasn't there. Its what Jesus would have wanted.
Today, I'll be celebrating the Lord's day by heading down the shore for some R&R in the sunshine. See you when I get back. Don't do anything I wouldn't do.
