In the early 90's, I was all about the then hard-to-find Lacoste shirt. Fast-forward a few years when the crocodile exploded all over the world. Unfortunately, with that expansion came a serious downgrade in fabric and construction quality.
I have to give props to a college friend, a former wannabe Teddy Boy who swore by Fred Perry polo shirts. They were the real thing, he explained. Always well-made, totally British and totally hard to find, which just made them all the more desirable.
Now Perry has teamed with the British house of the moment, Liberty of London, to create a range of shirts that show off the best of both. There are just four pieces in the collection, the perfect number for this project. In true Perry style, the print is hard to find-- giving just a hint of iconic Liberty at the placket.
