A good wool duffel coat is a prep wardrobe essential. Sorry, I won't hear arguments to the contrary. I've loved the duffel since first reading the Paddington the bear books, but somehow my mother wasn't convinced I needed a duffel in Southern California.
Gloverall is the best of the best, made in England with horn and leather toggles and a nifty tartan lining. I'd keep it myself if I didn't already have three others.
