I was having a rotten day yesterday. I'll spare you the details (they involve finding a decent sized cookie sheet and standing in line for 20 minutes at Trader Joe's), but suffice to say I was looking for a 'cheap and cheerful' fix. So I went into Daffy's.
I know, what was I thinking? If there's a sure way to turn a mood sour, it's experiencing the fluorescent hell of racks of unknown Italian-designed rags watched over by semi-coherent shopgirls with a bare grasp of the English language. But I often find great shoes at Daffy's and this was no exception.
These Keds Champions made me smile because they're in my favorite of all color combinations, army green and safety orange. And check out the soles, with a repeating racquet design that's positively pop art. At $9.99, it was a no-brainer.
