I've long been a fan of Bill Amberg's amazing leather bags and accessories, but the quality has demanded a price that's out of my reach. Unfortunately, the new Topman range still eludes my grasp.
Based on Amberg's 'Selvage' designs, the four Topman styles are made in rugged black canvas and vegetable-tanned leather by English craftsman. All well and good, but it is still Topman after all and I just can't see spending this much money on another bag. The pricing doesn't make sense-- $280 either buys the canvas tote (seen here) or the leather carryall. Am I to believe that the canvas is somehow as expensive to produce as the leather.
Seriously, Topman. Get it together. Americans aren't as stupid as you seem to think.
