JUST A SUGGESTION I love my topsiders in all different colors, but I hate the too-long floppy laces that come undone or are realized to be too tight halfway through the day when I've lost feeling in my toes.
Here's what I did to my new pair of American Living navy blue topsiders. First, I unlaced the entire vamp and pulled out the long piece of white leather lacing. Tying a tight knot at one end, I laced it through diagonally to the eyelet on the opposite side. Tied a knot there, cut off and repeated on the remaining pair of eyelets. Ta-da, a pair of slip-ons that are comfortable and secure.
The number of knots on each vamp might be considered overkill by some, but I love the hyper-nautical effect it gives.
