Classic Labels | Stores of Yore

Share
As I've posted before, I love old label design. The graphics are so much more interesting then modern labels and often outdo the design of the garment they're on. During this morning's thrift store jaunt, I spotted a trio of designs from department stores that were once a vital part of New York City's landscape and have since disappeared. B. Altman became a graduate studies center, Alexander's lingered as a ghost town before making way for the new Bloomberg headquarters and I think Bond's (home of the practical two trouser suit) was most recently the Virgin Megastore and the retro Bond 45 restaurant in Times Square.
