Did you ever see the movie The Love Letter? It took place in a charming coastal New England town full of beautiful people who were unlucky in love and rode bikes around town — that's the part that stuck with me. Ever since, I've wanted to live in a storybook small town and ride a bike to work.
I was reminded of this folly when I saw the new LL Bean Runaround Cruiser Bike. It's lightweight, not a lot to manage as far as gears and brakes, is equipped with a twenty-one speed SRAM drivetrain (something to do with hills) and has an optional handlebar basket for when I'm cruising through my own little Peyton Place with fresh produce and whatnot.
