BARGAIN HUNTER Actually, these were eyeglasses when I found them last week at an Upper East Side thrift shop-- and, no, I'm not telling you which one. The point is that there are great bargains everywhere if you use a little imagination.
I took these battered old Persol frames to Sol Moscot on Sixth Avenue and had them fitted with green sunglasses lenses and voilá! expensive designer glasses for less than $50 total. If you're in Manhattan, stop by the Bergdorf Goodman men's store-- they have the same vintage Persols for $1000!
