The New Gap Classics

Share
I have to say, I was leery of the new Gap and Patrick Robinson collaboration. I know Robinson has a reputation for being an on-the-trend designer, but he's also known for being a pain and not quite living up to the hype. I'm afraid his Gap collection is an example of the latter.

Would someone please explain to me the logic in telling your customer that you've made their favorite (shirt, jean, jacket) better? Aren't you essentially telling them that you didn't do it right the first time? And that they should throw out what they have and buy a new version?

As with most mass/designer collaborations, the men's range is decidedly lacking. Really, the most imaginative thing you could come up with was a field jacket that every hipster in America has already seen a hundred times over? And enough already with the C-list celebrity ads.
