No matter what the weather, I love sandals. I often drew stares from my West Village neighbors when I would walk the dog in a snow storm in peacoat, hat and gloves and a peekaboo toe. I can't help it--I'm from California and my feet yearn to be free.
Problem is finding good quality men's sandals--or "mandals" if you want to sound trendy--at a reasonable price. As with most fashion questions, the answer is obvious: go back to the original. Pantelis Melissinos is a third generation Greek sandalmaker and his custom footwork is sworn by fashionistas and celebrities and even people who think about how much they're spending, like me.
