I was down the shore for the weekend and the weather was spotty. Clear and sunny one moment, purple thunderclouds the next. It got me to thinking that it's never to early to plan for the next season. Maybe its global warming, but it seems as though you can never tell what to expect from day to day. Are the days of seasonal wardrobes a thing of the past?
In any case, the great thing about preppy style is that its constant. When you refuse to bow to trends and seasonal changes, you can create a look that's all your own and save a bit of money in the process. I always plan ahead and usually shop for cashmeres in the summer and shorts in the winter. I think the people at Orvis have caught on, too. They're having their tent sale right now and its filled with goodies for the cold days ahead. I love their classic tartan trousers.
