First introduced in 1912, when LL Bean was run by the actual outdoor enthusiast named LL Bean, the Bean Boot was a favorite of hunters and fisherman who had to contend with mud and water in the great outdoors. Since then, its sporty, oft-imitated shape, is more frequently seen on city streets during rainy days like today. The brown-on-brown version (pictured) has a more citified look.
I'm actually about to head out into a good New York downpour, but I know my feet will be clean and dry in my 6" Bean Boots. Thanks, LL.
