Despite their total impracticality (all that polishing!), I love sterling silver picture frames. They make the dullest snapshots seem so much more important and heritage-y. But they're usually prohibitively expensive.
It must be my lucky day, because Gilt Groupe is having a Lunt Silversmiths Sale and even this jaded shopper was impressed. I snagged this great little frame with a nautical porthole design (not the Cartier-esque screw trim around the edges) for just $20. Now one of my baby pics will look more John Jacob Astor V and less Little Orphan Annie.
