BUMMER CBS President Les Moonves, with all the charm of a garden snake, just announced during a CNBC interview that As the World Turns has been cancelled. Two points of interest: he did so with the crack "Their world is done." Secondly, David Faber, the CNBC anchor who was interviewing him, is married to the daughter of ATWT star and script writer Marie Masters. Its also the longest running of any show currently on television and on the same network with the two top-rated soaps.
I'm a big soap fan (did you figure that out?) and I actually moved to New York because I wanted to write for ATWT with the legendary Douglas Marland. Unless you're a soap fan, this means nothing to you. For all of us who followed the trevails of the Stewarts, the Hugheses and the Stenbecks, this is a sad day.
