I caught the tail end of the fashion classic Funny Face last night and was reminded of the sartorial splendor of Fred Astaire's character, fashion photographer Dick Avery, who was, of course, based on the real-life Richard Avedon. Astaire makes it look perfectly easy and sensible to shoot wearing loafers and a sport coat.
