For those of you who haven't heard, my precious little dachshund (yes, I fall into that stereotype of dog owner) the Baroness Serena von Munchkin has been recognized by the Long Island's Times Beacon Record as the second oldest known living dachshund! Here she is pictured on her 18th, during which she ate most of the back of that cake.
At a tender 20 years of age (that's 96 in dachshund years), Renie is a little scattered and a little blind, but otherwise in great shape. She enjoyed a brisk walk today and is now napping until dinner. Go to the link below and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Please note that the Baroness will be granting interviews, with a first rights exclusive going to the highest bidder. Hear that, Oprah?
Dachshunds are the best. So loyal and comical. At least mine is. Stubborn too. Wolfie is 4 and still not exactly trained yet. But I wouldn't trade him for anything.
