Thrift Score: Hermes Mackintosh Jacket

Share
There are thrift finds and there are thrift scores. A find is something good at a good price that you will make good use of. A score is something amazing at an amazing price that you will make amazing use of. Its the sort of treasure that puts a spring in your step as you leave the store and makes you worry that you might get mugged or hit by a bus before you have a chance to show off your latest discovery.

Behold: an authentic Hermes navy blue mack with gold logo buttons. The design is simple and classic and will look better and better with use. Reinforced studs at the pocket corners and those interior strap things to hang the jacket off the shoulders-- you know, the ones Helmut Lang wants you to think he invented.

I won't tell you which thrift I found it at because, frankly, I don't need the competition. But I will tell you that I got it for a song, about 99% off the retail price.

So, lesson learned. There are treasures to be had, you just have to look for them.
